Templar Battleforce v2.0.3 Released!

This midweek release brings a major boost to screen-loading performance.  The game is really flying now as you move through different HQ screens, as well as deploying to the map.  We've also cleaned up a set of small, but noticeable bugs related to the major UI overhaul from last week.

We're excited to add the 7th armor design to Templar Battleforce!  With 36 available faces and 7 armors, we feel like we've delivered on the ability to really customize every Templar.  And, we're not going to stop there.

Another big win this week is a change allowing Senty Turrets to match the armor type of their Engineer.  No longer only a dull gray brown, if your Engineer is rocking the deep blue armor, then your Sentry Turret wants in on the fun too.

Please leave a review to help encourage more updates, more content, and more features!  No DLCs here.

v2.0.3 - 2/22/2016
 - Major Performance Improvements
 - Added new armor design to Templar Designer - all new dark green and gray design
 - Sentry Turret armor designs now match Engineer's armor
 - Tweaks to further improve the game UI
 - Fixed bugs in new game screen, Designer, HQ

Star Traders 4X Empires v2.6.1 Released!

For this update, we've focused on a major performance boost across the game. You should feel it in every screen of the game -- from the time it takes to load all the way to the game map, to the speed of running a turn, to opening and browsing colonies, ships, techs.

When you're invading enemy colonies, we've again improved the invasion result messages. Now, damage dealt against your ships during invasion is shown in the event logs.

We've also fixed some issues with the option screen, and shifted it into the normal menu. A couple of reported bugs about Talent menu layout have also been wrapped up.

Please leave a review if you enjoy this game and the continued updates!

Templar Battleforce 2.0.1 brings Newly Updated UI

With the 22nd major update to Steam, we've completed a major art upgrade for the game's entire UI. Almost every screen and element has been improved with an all new, cohesive look.

We've also taken this chance to inject some higher res versions of the character's faces into the game as well, in the story dialogs and the designer.

Finally, we've packed a few more tidbits of information into the hovers on enemies, Templars, and Tact Points to make sure the most important details are readily available.

Now that we've finished a visual overhaul of the UI, we're going to be getting back to some improvements in the behaviors and screen transitions that were on hold while we finished this big project.

We hope you like the new look!

Thanks to everyone supporting the game with reviews, shares, and by telling a friend!

v2.0.1 - 2/19/2016
- Major UI overhaul, all UI elements improved
- Improved use of character faces, added HD faces to dialog and designer
- Added more fields to mouse hover on enemies, Templars and Tact Points
- Fixed Reported Crashes

Star Traders Choice Project - define officers

After page 4, I got pretty excited and powered through to page 5, which includes a really important choice moment and a poll of sorts. You can see right in the artwork what we will be deciding!

In this panel, you meet two of Captain Avenira's crew. They've both been subdued by the Bounty Hunter's beefy pistoleer. This choice moment is to bring these two crew members to life.

We'll use this moment to poll our Patreons to pick -- the name, appearance, job, traits, personality quirks, backstory -- basically anything you want to provide, about these two characters. I will keep a running post of the "top ideas" and everyone can weigh in on what they like, or provide their own additions to the story.
In the end, I will synthesize two new crew members from the top input, so it is important to chime in if you see someone else post something you like too.
Here are some things to consider:
  • We're looking for interesting folks here! The Captain keeps a small crew, around the size of Firefly, so there are likely to be 6 folks on the Vigilant, so we want each one to be unique and awesome in their own way. Really, with a crew of 6, every crew member is basically an officer.
  • These two are a male and female who were captured during the time that the Bounty Hunter and his henchman snuck onto the Vigilant. This means neither is a hardened combat veteran who would never be taken alive.
  • Neither of these characters will die in the following scene, but no promises after that.
When you post your comment, please start with the following aspects for one or both characters:
  • Name
  • Job (think Officers in ST, ... Mechanic, Spy, Diplomat, Scout, wise old man).
  • Appearance (I will redo the comic panel based on the polling!)
  • Two character strengths and two character flaws
The conversation is likely to be broken up between the forum post and the Patreon page, so please post to either location.

Let's make something awesome together! :D

A huge thanks to our Patreons for their support in all of our gaming endeavors.

Major Episode 4 Expansion Release!

The world of Steel trembles as the Harbingers ride to battle once again!  Episode 4 has received a major expansion today, opening up 3 new story arcs and moving the main story forward another stride toward the final climax.

The expansion has added over 15 new types of monsters and some major new bosses.  Their lairs and the expanse of the Underdeep includes 11 new dungeons, and one new town. On top of the new advesaries, there are hundreds of new pieces of weapons, armor and gear to kit out your groups in, and you'll find some of the mightiest items you've seen yet.  Even more, if you are playing Kincaid, Vraes, or Fyona, you have the chance to encounter your hero's legendary item and unique story content.

We've also fixed a host of bugs, including a nasty bug that was making mouse hovers go berserk on some desktops.

v4.2.1 - 2/9/2016
 - Major Episdoe 4 Expansion Pack!
 - Start new story arc by visiting Tevensa, Erghanna, Kea or Tyrae
 - Start new story arc at the Brunehorn docks; go to the Darkmoss
 - Storm Bastion back gate is now opened; visit Ancient Monastery
 - Added 11 new dungeons / regions and 1 new town
 - Added 15 new monster types and major bosses
 - Added 100+ new epic weapons, armor and gear
 - New Legendary Items story events for Vraes, Kincaid, Fyona
 - Added display of Strength minimum Damage to talent detail box
 - 6 Range Curses (Ethereal, Choking, etc) go to 7 Range at level 8
 - Added Crag Peak as a permanent part of the road east to Granthorn
 - Up-balanced the Heartbeats of Summer story item
 - Improved keyboard arrow scrolling, improve hover over Talents list
 - Improved sorting of Gear by level as well as type
 - Fixed bugs with very high leaderboard scores
 - Fixed desktop issue with hover breaking over talent list
If you have come out of the far side of the City of the Dead, then your ready to move forward on any of these new story arcs.  First, you can visit Kea, Tyrae, the Druid Erghanna or Tevensa's alter to continue the main quest.

Also, if you have been to the Storm Bastion, then the defensive wards they have been working are now complete, and the back gate can be opened at last. The winding track up to the monastery awaits.

The Captains at the Brunehorn docks will also take you into the Darkmoss Swamps to visit the Druid Erghanna, regardless of which family you supported in the conflict over Ember.  Heroes such as yourself would do well to talk to one of the Dhrogas, and you can kick off a new story arc by heading that way.

What could be better than the Lunar New Year 30% off sale?  A new update and a new armor skin for your Leviathan mechs!

With this update, we've also pumped up the reliability of Hydra's Napalm Damage.  We suggest caution for both xeno (good luck!) and your own Templars, as the Fire Damage caused by lasting Napalm is going to be higher and more consistent.  Consider adding some +Fire Res buffs, Gear or Armor if you are playing a fire-happy Hydra who is blanketing the entire field of battle in flames.

Please leave a review to help encourage more content, updates and deployments!

v1.2.27 - 2/6/2016
 - Added new armor design to Templar Designer - check out the orange and gray mech design
 - Fire Damage from napalm flame follows rules of standard Fire Dmg (30% minimum); be careful--more Dmg for enemies and Templars
 - Small increases to Max Use count for Napalm Charge and Napalm Lance levels 1-10
 - Fixed Reported Crashes
