Patreon June Wallpaper - Captain and her Titan Class!

I've been wanting to try this art project for a while, and once I got started it was too cool to stop. This is one of my favorite Captain's from the Star Traders 2 alpha with her newest ship -- a titan class -- floating in the background.

I am dying to find a way to be able to embed this view of the Captain and ship into the game directly. I might rebuild the loading screen just to do it!

I hope you enjoy June's wallpaper. Check out the attached zip for all three sizes, 1920x1200, 1920x1080, and for mobile 800x1200. I had to take a completely different shot of the ship to get this to fit on the portrait-style mobile, but I'm happy with the results.

Thank you Patreons for your support! We couldn't do it without you.

Save 50% on Templar Battleforce on Steam + Update v.2.6.29!

In honor of the Steam Summer Sale launch, we're rolling out the red carpet and our 71st update for Templar Battleforce.  Who doesn't love a well-supported game?

This update brings two new faces to the Templar designer, allowing you to design your squad from among 46 different characters and helmets.  These good looking faces are special to us -- they come from our awesome supporters on Patreon who won a raffle to join the Templar squads.  Welcome to the party, and roast some xeno for us!

We've fixed the bug that was making critical damage go crazy!  No more 1800+ damages!

We've also made some small improvements to the amount of SP you'll start with on some levels where you have story characters or any specialized Templar which will help improve swapping.  We've fixed the long standing challenge that you couldn't swap at the start of Mok Prime: Starport Breach.  It's about scenario #40, so its important to have your best Templars on the ground at the start of that challenging battle for the Starport.

v2.6.29 - 6/22/2017
 - Added 2 new Faces to Templar Designer - now pick among 46 faces and helmets!
 - Small up balance to starting SP for swap on some levels
 - Added ability to Swap in Mok Prime Starport Breach level
 - Fixed issue with extremely high Critical Dmg Multiplier
 - Fixed Weapon damage display which were off by 1 in EQ screens

Templar Battleforce v2.6.27: Mighty New Relic + Combat Log

If you love your melee Captain, or have an unstoppable Auto-Block Paladin on your team, today is your day.  This week's release includes the new Cascading Tact Relic.  This superior Tactical System allows either a Captain or a Paladin to have unlimited counter-attacks against enemies!  It comes at a hefty price of 7 Gear Levels, but its a worthy trade-off.

A big thanks to all of our players who have made suggestions and pointed out issues in the combat log.  This first update fixes a ton of little issues, clarifies some things, and adds a new line that includes the exact Deflection and Penetration numbers, so you can see the exact numbers used when rolling for Penetrating hits.

Please share a review if you are enjoying the game and the updates!

v2.6.27 - 6/19/2017
 - Added new Relic: Cascading Tact for Paladins and Captains, unlimited counter-attacks
 - Fixed combat log position on mobile screens
 - Fixed issue with Templar melee defense showing as 0s in combat log
 - Fixed issues with rounding errors in Critical Multiplier (6%) in combat log
 - Fixed issue damage and armor ranges being off by 1 in combat log

Vigilante Skies Comic - initiating the smuggler's drop

With a sandstorm closing in, the crew leaps into action to complete the smuggler's drop off. Preferring to stay in close, Derrick has come down from the crow's next. Time to do business.

Really enjoyed the whipping antennas in this one. Thanks to Singapore and German military for inspirations. Thanks to @dayan for providing the technical specs on Derrick's AR177.
Last week's poll was a zoo with all sorts of creative names coming in across the wires. In the end, Space Girl won out. Uhhhhh lol. Should I have known better? I think I will learn to love it!

I have some retcon to do to get the ship's name into original pages. I am also going work on dialog in earlier pages as well, because unless you read the post notes along with each page, the story about Mercury Third is completely impossible to pick up.

This week, I've decided to skip on the CYOA poll. I've never tried a project like this before, and I feel like the story is current backed into a corner a bit too much for a good poll right now. Hopefully, we can add one next week. As always, the story is CYOA, so you're suggestions on what you think might / could / should happen are welcome :D You've gotten us this far!

Heroes of Steel v4.4.9: More Loot + Crafting Fixes

This week's update finishes off a series of additions we've made to the loot tables in Episode 4, blowing up the available types of weapons, armor, and magical gear you can find throughout.  We've also fixed a few bugs related to certain loot groups that were repetitively dropping the same staves.

We received a lot of good feedback on the new accuracy / damage stat display for weapons, and have completed some fixes.

For the love of numbers, we're working on porting the newly released combat log from Templar Battleforce back to Heroes of Steel in our next update.

We've wrapped up some bugs in crafting (thanks for reporting!) and we've broken ground on the final story expansion that will close out the story of our four heroes.  What a journey, but we're nearly there.

v4.4.9 - 6/10/2017
 - Added more magical gear to loot groups in Episode 4
 - Fixed issues with new accuracy and weapon stat display
 - Fixed issues with armors impossible to craft, fixed Kiresh Bolter
 - Fixed map bugs and typos On Steam

Templar Battleforce v2.6.25 - New Combat Log

With this release, we've introduced a combat log to the game that is happy to share all the game's internal numbers with you.  It currently contains all attack, damage, special damage rolls (Fire, Bio-Poison, etc), and Critical Multipliers on damage.  Thanks to all of the community members who suggested formats and data they wanted to see!  We're not done with the log, but we wanted to get this first and extremely valuable piece out and in place.  We know we're going to be adding:
- All Tact Point activities (attack, defense upgrades)
- Penetration and Deflection numbers with each attack
- Your suggestions!

During building out the combat log, we found a few bugs with armor, ranged attacks, and penetration % from Buffs and Gear. Damage against high level targets with tougher armor will be slightly lower, unless you're scoring penetrating hits.

We've also fixed issues with the Reactor Jolt Ordnance and the Deep Cover Operative Resupply Ordnance.  Thanks to our players who reported!

Thanks to everyone leaving a review and sharing the game!

v2.6.25 - 6/10/2017
 - Added full combat log, showing all attack, damage, critical hit numbers
 - Fixed issues with enemy armor in ranged attacks and Penetration bonuses
 - Fixed bug with Reactor Jolt Ordnance used at low AP/MP levels
 - Fixed bug with Deep Cover Operative Resupply

Vigilante Skies: new Page and CYOA Poll

Pg 19 of Vigilante Skies returns to the C-Bay 4 and gets the action moving forward on the data cube drop off. Patch up, Captain Ava gears up to head out with Raven in the RTV. Apone heads for the bridge.

This page includes a nod of the head to the results of the last poll, in which Apone was elected to be the greenest member of the crew, pretty recently brought aboard and not yet completely trusted or integrated.

With the arc of this scene pretty well defined by Patreon votes (stay and deliver the data cube, lock up the bounty hunter, sandstorm coming in hot) I'm going to run another crew-building poll. In the next couple panels we'll get back to choices directly related to the action.

What is the name of the ship? In the page it was named as the Vigilant but that doesn't work really well with Vigilante Skies, which was added as the comic's name later. So, we're taking suggestions for the ship's name! Shoot, and remember to vote for other Patreon's suggestions as well.
